INFORMATION
TRILOGY ist eine Hommage an den unendlichen Lebenskreislauf und ein Dialog mit meiner verstorbenen Großmutter. In drei Kapiteln wandle ich auf ihren Spuren, folge den Notizen aus ihren Jahreskalendern und verrichte die Arbeit auf dem alten Bauernhof – ihrem Lebensmittelpunkt.
Im ständigen Wandel der Generationen gibt der Zyklus der Natur einen verlässlichen Rhythmus vor, von dem wir alle abhängig sind, egal wo wir leben und was wir tun.
Trilogy is a reference to the cycle of life. We all depend on and are connected by the cycle of nature: Generations change, but the nature’s cycle goes on and on. Digging The Garden, Nurturing the Growth, Harvesting the Crops – Trilogy follows this cycle in 3 chapters and is as well a dialogue between my grandmother and me:
After my grandmother’s death, I found her diaries: short notes on weather, her daily work as a farmers wife, visitors and finally just notes on weather and health. No feelings. A whole life written down in short notes.
I was touched by this absence of feelings and decided to go back in her life. Doing the work that she does or filming my family still doing that work. This process was very calming. I experienced that we all depend on the cycle of nature, no matter where we live and what we do. This is our origin and our end – without exeption.
